About Us
WattFit was founded & launched in October 2022 however there is a lot more to share in our story…
Jacob moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2017 to start what was then PEPT (Positive Existence Personal Training) which started as a boot camp running out of local schools, parks & scout halls. The boot camp style training meant lugging kettlebells & boxing gloves around between locations through the day with one goal in mind – to help Sunny Coast locals kick start their health & fitness. Some of the sessions we still run today within our studio were being run back then! There are still a handful of the same kettlebells used in sessions too.
As our community grew we quickly found a facility not too far from where we reside now that was 90 square meters… we outgrew this within the year & moved into what we thought would be our forever home just up the road. 400 square meters & multiple spaces & offices with the idea of building a health hub & bringing our community access to many amazing features & experts in the space.
This was quickly shut down through the pandemic & we were forced out of our space for an extended time. At this stage there were many businesses shutting down & struggling to survive, we moved online & ran Zoom sessions daily to keep our members moving & connected. The pandemic brought out the best in all of us & we stayed strong in what we had built & made the impossible work until it was time to return to face-to-face sessions. By this stage, Jacob had decided to continue his dream & reverted back to boot camp style sessions at the local club. Being back face to face meant it didn’t take long to build our community once again & within 12 months we were ready to move into our current location (WattFit HQ).
WattFit was formed… going out as a sole owner & creating WattFit felt like the right timing & all the obstacles we had overcome as a community & business felt like it was all building up to this inevitable decision. Since then we haven’t looked back… We are now a second home to over 60 ongoing group training clients & see 20 face to face personal training clients each week.
Our studio is first class & hosts both a naturopath and access to body composition scans through the best technology available (Inbody 570/Coastal Body Composition). We can run many session styles including YOGA, PILATES, BOXING, HIIT, SCULPT & POWERLIFT.
We often speak about the “WattFit Way of Life” & what this means to us. It is always evolving & always growing as we add layers to our community with features & add ons including BODY SCANS, WORKSHOPS, TEAM CHALLENGES for Charity, RUN CLUB, IPOD SHUFFLE NIGHT.
The WattFit Way of Life needs to be experienced to be truly understood.
Our community & the people in it show up daily in the pursuit of being better to become the best version of themselves. They have all had their spark ignited or re-ignited through the impact of our community whether that be through training or building new connections with like minded people. We have community members from all walks of life & a large majority of our members had never set foot inside a gym before starting with us. Helping a bunch of people kick-start their journey & ensuring they enjoy the process of training is something we do like no other.
